Get a 10% Cashback with Amazon’s New Brand Referral Bonus Program!

This article will cover:

  • How to use various external traffic platforms to optimize ranking for Amazon FBA products during Q4 (ManyChat chatbots, Facebook ads, Google ads, etc.);
  • How to set up and use Amazon’s Brand referral bonus program and Amazon Attribution links to optimize ranking optimally. This program has recently become open to all brand-registered sellers as part of Amazon Ads Campaign Manager.

Firstly, let’s cover various External Traffic strategies involving a powerful tool – ManyChat chatbot marketing for Amazon FBA.

Are ManyChat chatbots still as effective for ranking Amazon FBA products as before?

In the past three years, ManyChat chatbots have been one of the hottest topics discussed in the Amazon FBA community. Every Amazon event would feature multiple topics on ranking Amazon products with ManyChat chatbot flows. This strategy has become so widely used that, with time, it has lost some of its efficiency.

You can still get excellent results with search-find-buys driven through your chatbot. But are they still giving you the best bang for your buck?

Yes, if you keep a few things in mind:

  1. Avoid using direct links to Amazon in ManyChat to prevent the traffic from being seen as Messenger-originated;
  2. Diversify your External traffic signals by promoting your product on various social media platforms and advertising channels.

So, what type of links are safe to use when ranking Amazon FBA products with ManyChat?

In general, External traffic-originated 2-step URLs work amazingly well. Specifically, Google ads into 2-step URLs seem to give incredible results that are 5x more effective and get you 3x faster results than any other Amazon product ranking strategy right now.

Are all External Traffic Sources equally effective?

They are not all equally effective. Messenger is the lowest quality source of traffic that has a high potential of being misused by sellers from Amazon’s perspective. It is the result of sellers having complete control of their ManyChat customer base. They can share detailed step-by-step instructions for any customer action that’s in sellers’ interest.

However, you must reroute your ManyChat traffic out of Messenger to keep getting great results and not get flagged for low-quality traffic.

Below are three advanced strategies to optimize ranking with ManyChat.

Strategy #1: Optimization. No Links in Search-Find-Buy Instructions for Your ManyChat Flows

The most straightforward strategy would be to remove all links. Instruct your ManyChat customers to open the Amazon website in their browser or the Amazon shopping app and then search for a keyword you’re aiming to rank.

This way, these search-find-buys will be seen as 100% organic traffic, as the search would start as a regular session in the browser.

For this strategy, you wouldn’t use any links. Therefore, adding Amazon Attribution tags and getting a 10% Brand Referral Bonus cashback isn’t possible.

Strategy #2: Growth (Advanced). Reroute your rebates through Google / YouTube / Tiktok / Pinterest / Twitter

Those are trustworthy, high-quality traffic sources that can’t easily be misused. Thus they would give you the best ranking results you can get in 2021!

You will need to use deep links in your ManyChat flows, first driving traffic into one of these platforms for this strategy to work. A deep link would force the link to open in a corresponding mobile app instead of Messenger’s internal browser.

I use Pixelfy.me to create deep links for Google (a so-called “Magic link”), as well as for any other platform (YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.) via the “Any URL” link type selection.

The Advanced External Traffic Funnel for Amazon FBA would look like this:

external traffic

Choose between a 2-step URL, brand store link, or direct Canonical URL to create Amazon Attribution tags. The link will receive a unique tag that will allow you to track sales and earn a 10% cashback from Amazon.

Create multiple tags per keyword, platform, promotional campaign, etc. Use it for more detailed data tracking across different platforms, campaigns, ads, or posts.

With this strategy, you’re able to use Amazon Attribution to get a 10% of your revenue back. Amazon will give you a 10% discount on its 15-20% referral fee for any sales made within 14 days after clicking your Attribution-tagged links.

I highly recommend running Google ads to Amazon Attribution links simultaneously for best results.

Strategy #3: Expansion. Implementing new platforms for promoting your Amazon FBA business

To complement your Amazon PPC Ads efforts, I encourage you to test advertising your products on Google, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, etc. By doing so, you’d be in a small percentile of advanced sellers who don’t limit themselves with Amazon ads and occasional Facebook ads. The results, both from improved ranking and actual sales, might surprise you.

If you’re doing any External Traffic marketing (Facebook ads for Amazon FBA, Google ads, email marketing, SMS marketing, etc.) – make sure to use Amazon Attribution-tagged links to get a 10% back from Amazon.

You will find that this small bonus adds a lot to the table and helps improve the profitability of your marketing efforts.

When advertising on Google, YouTube, Pinterest, it’s preferred to avoid using landing pages. Even non-converting detail page views originated from high-quality External Traffic platforms will help improve your rank. They will potentially trigger the Amazon recommendation system for some extra promotion of your listings.

Can I use Affiliate marketing with Amazon Attribution?

Absolutely. You’re allowed to share Amazon Attribution-tagged links with influencers, and they’re allowed to attach their Amazon Affiliate tags to your link. However, you’re not supposed to use your own Amazon Affiliate tag with your Attribution links, as double-dipping is strictly prohibited.

Conclusion

Overall, the Brand Referral Bonus Program has provided an incredible opportunity to test new platforms and see what works for your Amazon business. The introduction of this program emphasized the importance that Amazon is putting into sellers implementing External Traffic marketing for their businesses.

Complement those efforts with list-building and ranking activities via ManyChat chatbots. Drive sales through high-quality traffic channels. You’ll establish and solidify your brand’s presence on and off Amazon.
